San Diego Humane Society is hiring a Full-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician for our San Diego Campus!

You’ll perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities, equipment, and furnishings. What you’ll do:
- Perform preventative maintenance throughout the facility and on the equipment.
- Maintain, install, and repair plumbing systems throughout the facility. Janitorial work as needed. Respond to maintenance emergencies.
- Inspect building, facilities, and equipment to ascertain needed repairs, make or recommend repairs or alterations as needed.
- Arrange for service with HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other vendor specialties when appropriate
- Willingly assist the public and other staff in all shelter programs and special events.
Location & Hours: Based at our San Diego Campus with expected travel between all campus locations. This position works a 4/10 Alternative Work Schedule.
Pay: Starting range is between $24.20 - $26.92 per hour. The actual hourly rate is determined by your related education and experience.
The listed hiring range for this position depicts the target range of pay rates for candidates. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. Compensation for internal candidates may increase beyond the listed range based on performance over time. For all candidates, the actual starting pay rate is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to your years of related education and experience, internal pay equity, and position location.

Growth is based on time worked in your SDHS Facilities role and meeting other training and performance requirements – everyone can advance once they meet the requirements! Advancing levels is recognized through a title change and pay increase.
Requirements
What we’re looking for:
- Requires High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of three (3) years of full-time related experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience working in a maintenance related capacity required.
- Experience working with heating, air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or related building trades required.
- Knowledge and proper use of hand and power tools related to job functions required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be approved by SDHS insurance carrier to drive a company or personal vehicle for work purposes.
