Position Summary: The Marketplace Thrift Store Manager provides on-site leadership for a mission-driven retail operation by overseeing day-to-day performance, supporting volunteers and staff, and ensuring an inviting environment that aligns with organizational values. This role blends retail management, facility oversight, and collaboration with animal care partners to support revenue growth, community engagement, and high standards of care and service.

Manage the daily operations and overall success of the Marketplace Thrift Store.
Oversee volunteers and future associate staff.
Be responsible for revenue growth, maintaining a welcoming and clean environment, and the operations of the Cat Café and Rainforest Room.
Work full-time on-site and collaborate with the animal care team to ensure cats in the building receive the highest standard of care.
Provide hands-on leadership on the sales floor, offering direction, support, and problem-solving in real time.
Coordinate volunteer and staff scheduling, task assignments, and daily priorities to ensure consistent coverage and efficiency.
Drive retail performance through effective merchandising, pricing, inventory organization, and promotional activities.
Monitor daily sales, basic financial metrics, and operational performance; prepare routine reports for leadership.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and sanitation requirements across all managed spaces.
Oversee opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, point-of-sale processes, and basic financial controls.
Maintain high visual and cleanliness standards across the thrift store, Cat Café, and Rainforest Room.

Requirements
Education/Experience:
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Read, analyze, and interpret business, professional, technical, or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the public.
Mathematical Ability:
Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: Basic proficiency using Google and Microsoft services. Ability to use and structure an Excel sheet efficiently. Timely communication on all communication platforms including social media and email.
