San Diego Humane Society is hiring Full-Time Seasonal Foster Specialists for our Foster team!

What you’ll do:
To ensure the shortest length of stay, you will monitor foster animal progress by scheduling all medical and behavior appointments and accurately tracking data in our animal management software. You'll maintain professional, consistent communication with volunteers to ensure adherence to care plans, collaborating with leadership when action is needed. Additionally, you will perform daily feeding and cleaning routines and serve as a rotational point of contact for after-hours foster emergencies.
Location & Hours: Based at our San Diego Campus. This position works 40 hours per week and will last through approximately November 2026.
Pay: Starting range is between $21.00 – $23.25 per hour.
The listed hiring range for this position depicts the target range of pay rates for candidates. The actual starting pay rate is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to your years of related education and experience, internal pay equity, and position location.

Requirements
What we’re looking for:
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of full-time paid experience in a kennel, shelter, or veterinary setting. You will be required to obtain SDHS Behavior Assessment Certification and other internal training after hire, and must have a valid driver’s license and be approved by SDHS insurance carrier to drive a company or personal vehicle for work purposes.
